Ultrasound procedure

Ultrasound procedure

A modern veterinary clinic cannot be imagined without additional equipment for examining animals. And one of the most necessary diagnostic methods is ultrasound. Expert-class devices, which are available in each of our clinics, allow you to examine:

  • organs of the abdominal cavity and pelvis
  • heart and (partly) lungs
  • brain (in young animals)
  • surface organs (salivary glands, thyroid gland, mammary glands, surface formations)
  • muscles and joints.

Also, under ultrasound control, such procedures as puncture of the urinary, gall bladder, neoplasms, and abscesses are performed.

Before the ultrasound of the abdominal cavity, the patient must not feed for 10-12 hours, before the ultrasound of the gastrointestinal tract - AT LEAST 12 hours. Puppies and kittens up to 4 months, ferrets - hunger for no more than 3 hours. Rodents, rabbits - without hunger, feed with hay and do not give grain and wet fodder 12 hours before the examination. No one should be restricted in the WATER.

We remind you that the indication for each examination is determined by the referring doctor. He also interprets the results of ultrasound, other studies and examination, makes a clinical diagnosis and prescribes treatment.
