STERILIZATION AND CASTRATION OF CATS AND DOGS
From the Middle Ages to the era when veterinary medicine took a step forward today, castration and sterilization have become some of the most popular operations.
Many believe that they castrate males and sterilize females. In fact, these procedures differ somewhat.
CASTRATION is the removal of reproductive organs.
In MALES, the testicles are removed, and in FEMALES, only the ovaries or ovaries with the uterus are removed.
STERILIZATION in MALES involves ligation of the spermatic cords without removal. FEMALES have their uterus removed or their horns tied; the ovaries remain at the same time. After that, reproductive functions are unavailable, but instincts are present.
There is an opinion that sterilization is not so necessary and you can even not worry about this issue. However, for animals living in the yard of a private house, or for those who walk freely, this is not just an option, but a necessity! Because it protects against unwanted pregnancy (and therefore contributes to the regulation of the number of animals and the reduction of the number of homeless representatives of the species), stress arising from sexual desire, and diseases of the reproductive system, which in case of late detection and diagnosis can become fatal.
Such operations do not affect the change of the animal's character. They can be done from an early age, in particular from 8 weeks. Convenience, first of all for the animal, is that the young body has the ability to recover faster, so postoperative rehabilitation will take place in the shortest possible time and with the lowest probability of complications related to inflammatory processes.
The surgical department of the "Zoolyuks" veterinary clinic provides such services in the form of classical surgery, and endoscopic or laparoscopic, which is less traumatic for your pets. In particular, the abdominal cavity is not cut, and accordingly there will be no postoperative sutures and antibiotics. Such an operation is performed by puncturing the abdominal cavity and is completed by placing stitches on the abdominal wall with self-absorbing suture material and gluing the skin.
Animals do not need special preoperative preparation. They must be clinically healthy. It is enough not to feed them 4-8 hours before the operation, and depending on the breed characteristics and age (in particular, from 4 years and older), some animals need to undergo a preoperative cardiology diagnosis to make sure that the cardiovascular system is able to withstand anesthetic drugs.
Operations at the "Zoolux" clinic are carried out only by appointment, which you can make by calling +38(094)828 98 38, +38(044)344 88 88 or at the registry office.
Trust the health of your pets to the best!💚

Preparation for ultrasound examination (ultrasound)
It is important to remember that proper preparation of the animal can significantly facilitate the abdominal ultrasound process. By performing this procedure, the doctor can detect possible problems in time and provide proper treatment. High-tech ultrasound is one of the ways to quickly and informatively diagnose and ensure a long and healthy life for our pets.
